Lions Cricket Club, Regina started his journey in the early ‘90s. Previously the club was known as St. Georgia club in. At that time Only 4 teams were existing in Saskatchewan. Getting players and build a good team was somewhat tough those days. Then India Canada Association helped the club financially and other ways and the club then registered as Indian Canada Cricket Club. By the time, it was to only club left in Regina & cricket was dying in Regina. With the help of some Saskatoon players, the club helped to survive the cricket in Regina. Then Mr. Mike Sharma took the responsibility and became the president of the club. He changed the culture of naming the cricket club besides the country name so that people coming from different part of the world don’t feel any kind of disconnect. So, the Club got a kind of neutral name and now known as The Lions Cricket Club. Now people from the different parts of the world who were living in Canada, started joining the club. By his efforts in fund raising and other dimensions, the club has got more players, the club house, the net, cement pitch and other facilities. From the only team in Regina, there were now 16 teams in the 2nd year of the presidency of Mr. Mike Sharma. The Mayor of the Regina also helped and the club got his second cricket ground. The Cricket now was in the next level in Saskatchewan. The players of the club performed so well and reached to the national level tournaments.
